A close call for a pilot and his 4-year old son today in St. Lucie County.
Police say Adam Williams made an emergency landing along a roadway around lunchtime on Monday after claiming that the engine in his Cessna 140 started sputtering and then stopped mid-air.
Williams had his son with him in the plane at the time and said the road appeared to be the best spot for a landing.
The two were on their way to Boca Raton and made it safely to the ground without injuries on Glades Cutoff Road near Fort Pierce.
Police say Williams has been a pilot for nine years and runs a flight school.
