You're Using Too Much Laundry Detergent

According to insider.com, most Americans use too much laundry soap in their loads of wash.

Not only is it a huge waste of detergent - which is expensive - it can actually make your clothes stay dirty. More soap means less friction between the clothes, which is how dirt and stains come out. The dirt can float in the extra suds and then get redeposited on your clothes. And the extra soap can begin to build up in the washer and continue that cycle - and cause odors inside the washer.

If you have soft water, you'll want to use less detergent.

This is an excellent resource to figure out how much soap you need to use!

And since I am endless fascinated by our front load washer getting clothes clean, here is someone's washer cleaning a load of clothes!
