A week after Miami-Dade's peace and prosperity plan passes, Commissioner Kionne McGhee kicks off the "Roll up your sleeves" Tour. McGhee is hosting a series of monthly meetings beginning tonight through November giving residents a change to speak out on issues of concern like the spike in mass shootings. The county's 90-million anti-gun violence plan will dedicate resources toward law enforcement and youth programs over the next 19 years to make neighborhoods safer. Phase 1 of the plan "Operation Summer Heat" is already in effect. In just the first 3 days, 146 total arrests were made and 61 firearms were taken off the streets.
