Lightning Fall To Hurricanes

The Carolina Hurricanes (39-22-4) defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning (37-23-4) 4-1 on Tuesday night in Raleigh. It was the second straight loss for Tampa Bay, while Carolina picked up their fifth win in a row.

Carolina took a 1-0 lead in the first period thanks to a shorthanded goal from Seth Jarvis, before erupting with two more goals in the second to take control of the game. Gage Goncalves scored the only goal for Tampa Bay in the third period to pull within 3-1, but Seth Walker answered with a wrist shot to make it 4-1 and clinch the game for the Hurricanes.
