Heart kicked off their intimate "an evening with..." tour on May 31, and the night before two special instruments were stolen from the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
“Members of the legendary rock band Heart were devastated to discover that two irreplaceable instruments were stolen from the venue, where gear had been set up the day prior to the show,” a statement reads. The instruments that were taken are a “custom-built, one-of-a-kind purple sparkle baritone Telecaster with a hand-painted headstock, crafted specifically for [guitarist] Nancy Wilson” and a “vintage 1966 Gibson EM-50 mandolin” that multi-instrumentalist Paul Moak has played for over a quarter century."
“These instruments are more than just tools of our trade — they’re extensions of our musical souls," Wilson added. "The baritone Tele was made uniquely for me, and Paul’s mandolin has been with him for decades. We’re heartbroken, and we’re asking for their safe return — no questions asked. Their value to us is immeasurable.”
The band is even offering an undisclosed reward for anyone who has information about their precious instruments. Heart's current tour is set to go wrap up on June 28, and then the band plans to hit the road again for a summer tour in August. See their full statement and list of tour dates below.
