The Palm Beach County School District is not currently offering sexual education curriculum.
Schools previously offered a human growth and development curriculum for students, though parents had the opportunity to opt their children out.
The weeklong course which typically happened during the spring semester covered things like puberty, menstrual cycles and child safety for younger students while higher-grades learned the topics of pregnancy, disease prevention and online safety.
But the district was unable to get this year's sex-ed program approved by the Florida Department of Education.
