Immigration rights advocates are coming to the defense of a woman who was hauled away from yesterday's Miami-Dade Commission meeting in handcuffs and arrested. A second person was also charged with resisting arrest for interfering.
Right To Freedom Network Co-founder Carla De Anda says no one saw humanity.
"They push us, they scream to us. Even one guy, one of the police officers came with the rifle. Do they need a rifle there? Really?" De Anda said.
Camila Ramos appeared in bond court this morning on now reduced charges of battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting an officer with violence. Her bond was set at $7,500.
She is accused of hitting an officer as she was fighting being removed from the meeting where she wanted to speak about the county's partnership with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
