Volusia County, FL - An 11-year-old boy was taken into custody in Daytona Beach after allegedly posting a threatening comment on TikTok targeting Campbell Middle School.
The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office reported that the FBI alerted local authorities to the TikTok post, in which the child allegedly stated plans to “shoot up Campbell Middle School.”
Law enforcement quickly responded to the boy’s home to assess the situation.
Upon arrival, deputies determined the child did not have access to any weapons that could be used to carry out the threat.
The boy was taken into custody on Saturday and transported to the Family Resource Center for processing.
Due to his age, the sheriff’s office did not release his personal information.
Specific charges related to the alleged threat have not been disclosed.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the TikTok comment.
Officials emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety of students and staff while handling incidents involving minors.
