Hernando County, FL - Daniel St. Pierre, 59, a Canadian citizen, was arrested in Bayonne, France, on October 2nd after allegedly fleeing the United States to avoid trial on multiple child molestation charges in Hernando County.
St. Pierre had been facing several offenses related to the sexual molestation of a minor and was out on pre-trial release when he allegedly removed a court-ordered monitoring device in July 2025, violating the terms of his release.
Hernando County detectives determined that St. Pierre left the country and returned to Canada.
This led to a months-long investigation by the U.S. Marshals Service, which tracked his movements across the United States, Canada, Portugal, and France.
Authorities coordinated with the International Criminal Police Organization and French law enforcement to locate and apprehend St. Pierre without incident.
Following his arrest in Bayonne, St. Pierre is currently awaiting extradition to the United States to face the charges in Hernando County.
If convicted, he faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 25 years in state prison.
St. Pierre’s arrest comes after a concerted law enforcement effort involving multiple agencies, including the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office, the U.S. Marshals Service, INTERPOL, and French authorities.
