Hurricane Francine is now a tropical depression after making landfall in Louisiana.
Francine's impact will be felt across North Florida. The National Weather Service has Flood Watches posted from the First Coast to the Panhandle. Francine is expected to drop heavy bands of rain in the region today and tomorrow. Half a foot or more could fall in the Panhandle. Strong winds could also cause problems.
Tropical Depression 7 is expected to become a tropical storm later today. The National Hurricane Center in Miami says it remains several hundred miles west of the Cabo Verde Islands.
